​Founded in Sacramento in 2006, Cassio Werneck Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is led by IBJJF World Champion Cassio Werneck, a lifelong martial artist with over 30 years of experience dedicated to mastering and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

A 2003 Black Belt World Champion and 8-time Masters World Champion, Cassio has not only achieved success at the highest levels of competition—he has built one of the most respected Jiu-Jitsu communities in Northern California.

Inside the academy, you’ll find more than just world-class instruction. You’ll find a supportive, disciplined environment where beginners feel welcome, experienced practitioners are challenged, and everyone is pushed to grow—on and off the mats.

Cassio has coached elite athletes including Frank Mir, Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, and Urijah Faber, while also helping everyday students—from professionals to families—develop confidence, fitness, and real self-defense skills.
